Capturing the Sparkle [September]

I’m trying something new in this blogosphere of a more personal vibe every month. A chance to capture some sparkles or sparks of joy in my ordinary, well lived life.

Here’s where I found life’s sparkle this September.

Capturing the sparkle of grass growing after a lot of hard work.

Waiting for grass to grow after learning how to grow it and careful care in our yard.

The high school marching band playing at the football game on a cool fall night and the child learning to play a viola for the first time.

Listening to the bassoon being practiced, the viola being plucked, and the marching band practicing in the distance every evening.

The excitement of the young baseball player reaching home and scoring a run for his team, and the young girl wearing a markered on mustache to her soccer game to show how fierce she is.

Watching all the sports – swimming, baseball, soccer and my brave ones who wear marker mustaches and volunteer to catch and play goalie and face the balls constantly being hurled at them.

Capturing the sparkle of traveling to a wedding and see your child light up at a broadway show.

Making plans that we get to keep. Like a taking my Broadway obsessed child to see Wicked! and traveling to New York City for a dear friend’s wedding in the shadow of the Empire State Building.

The joy of food served to mark occasions, birthday cake for another year together and tea and scones to mark the Queen's death.

Eating to mark milestones in time. Birthday cake to celebrate another year with the ones we love… and scones to mark the historic moment of the Queen’s passing.
