Purposeful Thanksgiving Photos

This Thanksgiving, I know I am very grateful to be able to be “back together” with our family in ways that we missed last year. Of course, if your family is anything like my particularly spicy family, that also means while you are preparing a turkey, you may also be preparing your home and your heart for the cast of characters gathering around your table. 

Give yourself a moment to consider what you might want to document about this Thanksgiving. Maybe you want to capture every detail with your camera in hand. Maybe you want to soak in the day and choose just a couple of moments to document.

For me, this Thanksgiving, I want to capture:

The loud crew of 10 grandchildren, each miraculously present in our lives.

Mixed generations of chefs preparing in the kitchen.

The games with Grandpa.

The possible after dinner concert given by amateur musicians.

Possibly, the one quiet moment of the day when I sneak into a quiet space to kick my feet up.

A photo right before everyone sits down at the table – quite unlikely to be perfectly postable, but I guarantee, it will be memorable.
